Jehuda, eigentlich Ludwig Pfeuffer, hebräischer Schriftsteller, * Würzburg 3. 5. 1924, ✝ Jerusalem 22. 9. 2000; gilt als bedeutender Lyriker der modernen israelischen Literatur. Amichai kam 1935 nach Palästina und diente während des Zweiten Weltkrieges in der britischen Armee im Nahen Osten. Geprägt vom Holocaust, beschäftigt er sich mit der Innenwelt der Überlebenden und der Angst des Einzelnen, der sich vom Kollektiv nie ganz befreien kann; veröffentlichte u. a. Gedichtsammlungen, Romane, Theaterstücke und Hörspiele.

Romane: Nicht von jetzt, nicht von hier (1963; deutsch); Wer gibt mir eine Herberge? (1971; deutsch).
